About the role

This position is to serve as a subject matter expert by supporting the Director of OAM, providing guidance regarding acquisition-related policy, Office of Management and Budget initiatives, acquisition workforce programs, procurement systems, and DOJ strategic acquisition priorities.

What you will do

  • * Oversee the development and/or recommends policies and procedures in the area of acquisition, to include formulating guidelines, implementing new developments. * Develop, coordinate and maintain Department-level policy and Justice Management Division (Offices, Boards, and Divisions) policy and initiatives, regulations and guidance relative to acquisition. * Prepare documentation for senior management with detailed data supporting various alternative courses of action. * Keep senior management advised on new/revised policy and procedures covering a variety of acquisition and management topics. * Respond to inquiries regarding Federal acquisition regulations, acquisition procedures, and procurement systems.

Education

Education must be reviewed and certified by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, in order for it to be creditable towards your qualifications. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from accredited institution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program.

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. If you are qualifying on foreign education, you MUST submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.

Transcripts must be uploaded with your application to verify education. All documentation must be in English or include an English translation.

How you will be evaluated

Once the job opportunity announcement closes (at 11:59 pm ET on 07/26/2027, your qualifications will be evaluated based on your application materials (e.g., resume, supporting documents) along with the results of the applied assessment.

Qualified applicants who pass the USA Hire assessment, which is used to determine proficiency, will be referred to the selecting official for consideration. The Hiring Official may select any qualified candidate. In order to be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process.

In addition to the application and application questionnaire, this position requires an online assessment. The online assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job.

You must meet all qualifications, including meeting or exceeding the cut score on the required assessments.

Your USAHIRE assessment results will be kept on record for one year and used toward future positions for which you might apply that require the same assessments.

Open-Continuous Cut-Off Information: An initial cut-off ate of 14 days after the open date of the announcement will be used to evaluate candidates for the initial available vacancies and then quarterly thereafter until closing of the announcement.

Any application received after the initial cut-off date will only be considered if additional vacancies for the position are received after the initial cut-off date. IF additional vacancies are received after the initial cut-off date, ALL applicants that applied will be evaluated/re-evaluated and ranked as stated within the Evaluation statement of the announcement.
