This National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF), Position Description Number NGT0061P01 and is part of 114 FW in Sioux Falls, SD. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: -U.S. Citizens

What you will do

• This position is located at the Joint Force Headquarters-State (S/T/DC) reporting to the Integrated Primary Prevention Officer.
• Primary purpose of this position is to directly support the development and execution of policies, programs, and procedures for implementing integrated primary prevention activities relating to self-directed harm (i.e., self-cutting, drug and alcohol abuse, thoughts of suicide, self-directed abusive thoughts, suicide attempts and suicides), and interpersonal violence (i.e., sexual assault, workplace harassment, and domestic violence), averting harm or abuse before it occurs.

How you will be evaluated

EVALUATION METHODS: Each applicant considered to possess the minimum qualification requirements will be further evaluated in accordance with the procedures outlined in SDNG Technician Pamphlet 335-T and subsequent MOAs. BASIS FOR RATING: Qualified candidates will be assigned to one of three quality categories: "Best- Qualified", "Well-Qualified", "Qualified".

"Best-Qualified" Level. Candidate possesses the qualifications that substantially exceed the basic requirements of the position and would allow the candidate to perform effectively in the position almost immediately or with a minimum of training and/or orientation. "Well-Qualified" Level.

Candidate possesses the qualifications that exceed the basic requirements of the position and would allow the candidate to perform effectively in the position within a reasonable period of time (3-6 months). "Qualified" Level. Candidate possesses the qualifications that meet the basic requirements of the position.

5 POINT VETERANS' PREFERENCE: You MUST submit a copy of your DD 214 which includes Character of Service (usually Member-4 copy).

If you are currently active duty, you may submit written documentation (certification) from your branch of service certifying that you are expected to be discharged or released from active duty under honorable conditions no later than 120 days after the date the certification is signed.

The certification should also include when your terminal leave will begin, your rank and dates of active-duty service.

What to expect next
