About the Position: These positions are located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. This is an open continuous announcement.

What you will do

  • Provide patient and family education tailored to specific medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery goals.
  • Provide individualized nursing care to patient based upon the physician’s medical care plan, the nursing assessment, and the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient.
  • Assist the physician with various examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Prepare medications and immunizations for administration.
  • Perform routine procedures, such as eye, throat, nasal and/or wound cultures, dressing changes, ear irrigation, and application of bandages.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms immediately and calls for assistance and if the situation warrants it, performs CPR immediately.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor specialized equipment.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. These positions may be designated "Mission Essential".

In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service and have superior qualifications.
