About the Position: This position is located at Irwin Army Community Hospital in Fort Riley Kansas. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

What you will do

• Obtain information from patient to identify major complaints, symptoms, or reason for seeking health care.
• Take all vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, pain level, height, weight); perform a behavioral health screening.
• Document patients' chief complaints and other pertinent information in the health record.
• Provide individualized nursing care to patients based upon the physician’s medical care plan; the nursing assessment; and the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient.
• Prepare procedure rooms by ensuring required equipment, consent forms, etc. are available.
• Administer oxygen, IV fluid, and prescribed oral, rectal, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens according to local Standard Operating Procedures.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
