About the Position: Kenner Army Health Clinic, Fort Lee, Virginia. Kenner offers delivery of direct primary and preventive nursing care to active duty and retiree family members of all ages. This is an open continuous announcement.

What you will do
- Provide practical nursing care to a diverse patient population with a variety of medical conditions.
- Perform tasks such as recording vital signs, ordering labs, tracking patient’s laboratory, radiology orders and referral results to completion.
- Initiate and maintain medical histories on patients, records observations, and identifies symptoms for use by the clinician.
- Report significant findings to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Perform direct nursing care to clinic patients via telemedicine, virtual, and face-to-face care.
- Conduct focused nursing assessments and contributes to the care plan.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of care provided and ensures adherence to established protocols.
- Communicate with patients and families to ensure they are informed about care plans and progress.
- Administer prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed Prepare and deliver oral, topical, and injectable forms while monitoring for and responding to side effects or adverse reactions.
- Assist in performing and managing medical procedures, physical examinations, and treatments.
- Utilize electronic health record and information technology as effective communication and management tools to facilitate the patient experience and coordination.
- Assist with resuscitations, stabilizations, and other critical interventions as well as initiates emergency care as needed and assembles, operates, and monitors specialized equipment.
- Monitor patient responses during and after procedures, ensuring that any complications are addressed promptly.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols throughout all procedures.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to specific medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery goals.
- Assist in counseling and educating patients to include, but not limited to diet, acute or chronic illness, wellness/preventative health measures, immunizations, demonstrating proper use of medical devices, and addresses questions about ongoing care.
