About the Position: This position is located at Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

What you will do

  • Provides practical nursing care to patients in the outpatient clinic with a variety of medical conditions.
  • Performing tasks such as recording vital signs, ordering labs, tracking patient’s laboratory, radiology orders and referral results to completion.
  • Administers prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed.
  • Educates patients and families about prescribed treatments, reinforcing adherence to the medical plan.
  • Documents accurate administered medications and patient responses promptly in compliance with facility policies.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective management of patient medications.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Position may be designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations. Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
