About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is located at the Joint System Manufacturing Center (JSMC) in Lima, OH.

What you will do

  • Responds to calls for police assistance and emergency help.
  • Responds to criminal activities.
  • Investigates accidents and prepare reports.
  • Conducts preliminary investigations of security breaches and interview witnesses, along with compiling evidence.
  • Subdues and disarms people committing violent acts and arrest suspects.
  • Escorts important persons/visitors and give directions.
  • Drives patrol vehicle around installation and issue tickets for parking violations.
  • Operates radar speed detection devices and alcohol breath analysis equipment.
  • Directs traffic and if needed, direct individuals away from accidents and fires.
  • If needed, gives depositions, and testify in court.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
