About the role

A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021). This position is located in the Buildings and Grounds Section of the PHS Indian Hospital, Eagle Butte, SD.

What you will do

• Performs repair and limited fabrication of plumbing systems.
• General maintenance and repair of grounds water supply and sprinkler systems, building plumbing, air conditioning, ventilation, heating and refrigeration.
• General maintenance duties.
• Repair gas leaks in natural gas and liquid propane gas distribution systems replacing regulators, valves, fittings and meters.
• Lift, carry, and set up parts and equipment that weighs up to 40 pounds.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.

IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit.
