About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Remote telework may be authorized.

What you will do

• Interpret full range of general diagnostic imaging modality exams to include MRI, CT, Ultrasound, plain film, fluoroscopy, mammography and nuclear scintigraphy.
• Evaluate imaging test results for the purposes of diagnosis, patient care, research and education.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team consisting of direct and indirect patient care professionals to include diagnostic imaging staff, x-ray technicians, laboratory staff, and referring clinical team and providers.
• Consult with the requesting clinical provider before a procedure is done, deciding on the procedure and ensuring the minimization of the invasion of the patient.
• Direct supporting employees during the performance of scheduled or emergency care procedures to include biopsies and abscess drainages.
• Assist with formulation of plans and procedures for assigned services; coordinate radiological services with other medical activities.
• Participate in independent, remote/off-site teleradiology call schedule overnights and weekends.

This position is remote work eligible and is currently on an extension from the return to office mandates. Remote positions are reviewed bi-annually and do not imply permanent remote work status and may be required to comply with the return to office mandates in the future.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing. This position is designated as Key. For positions located within the Continental US (CONUS), the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.

This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You may be required as a condition of employment to take the series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. May include other immunizations that may be required for this position/for a position you may fill as an emergency essential alternate.

Failure to take immunizations may lead to your removal from position or separation from Federal service.

Position is considered essential to support DoDs mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. Position is considered emergency essential because (1) No qualified and immediate replacement exists; (2) having it vacant would/impair effective operation of essential military support system/adversely impact combat mission of deployed forces.
