About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

What you will do

  • Provide a full scope of diagnostic radiology services for the radiology services.
  • Provide consultation, reporting the radiologic diagnostics examination, delivering interpretation of the study and the diagnoses of x-ray to the clinician.
  • Recommend and direct the care and treatment of the patient.
  • Obtain consultation, provides referral, both within the department and with other medical elements.
  • Provide advice, professional opinions and written technical studies and professional review upon request by the Chief, Department of Radiology in support of the various boards and committees.
  • Submit diagnostic radiology reports.
  • Provide training in the specialty of Diagnostic Radiology to other department physicians and medical students.

This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.

Permanent positions: One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Position may require employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing. Position may be designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

This may be an obligated position. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
