About the role
About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What you will do
- Evaluate a wide range of female pelvic conditions or issues, to include female pain, urinary incontinence, abnormal uterine bleeding, and sexual and reproductive health.
- Perform colposcopy and office and surgical treatments of vaginal and cervical dysplasia to diagnose and treat precancerous abnormal cell growth.
- Interpret diagnostic images and provides consultations on images and examination reports.
- Examine, diagnose and treat the full range of OB/GYN patients, from pediatric to geriatric patients, including evaluation of anatomic abnormalities, pubertal development, sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy, and post-menopausal treatment.
- Provide primary preventive care and education for women seen in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic.
- Work in Labor and Delivery for triage, management of laboring patients, vaginal delivery, operative delivery, cesarian sections, and recognition and management of hypertensive disorders and post-partum hemorrhage.
- Perform on-call duties to provide 24-hour coverage of Labor and Delivery ward, handle emergencies, and answer urgent consultations from other specialties.
- Guide, instruct and train students and other professional personnel in ambulatory OB-GYN care, including policies, procedures and guidelines.
