About the role

About the Position: This position is located within David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

What you will do

  • Evaluate patients who are referred from Departments of Internal Medicine, Primary Care, EmergencyMedicine, Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and/or Surgery.
  • Perform assessments for adaptive devices and upper extremity orthotics.
  • Provide consultation to other health care providers (nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, therapists, medical students, and interns).
  • Provide medical consultative services and chart review for quality assurance purposes.
  • Develop long and short-term treatment goals and objectives for each patient taking into consideration the information acquired in the evaluation and assessment phases.
  • Utilize an interdisciplinary team approach to planning and treatment with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy technicians, family members, health professionals and other health and social agencies.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position is designated as Mission Essential.
