Military Analysts provide US policymakers with unique insights on foreign military forces' structure, capabilities, doctrine, weapons systems, plans, and tactics. They also explore global strategic military trends.

What you will do

  • As a Military Analyst at CIA, you'll provide U.S. policymakers with analysis of foreign military forces' structure, capabilities, doctrine, weapons systems, plans, and tactics.
  • You will also explore global strategic military trends.
  • Analysts frequently provide briefings and written analysis to senior US policymakers and military leaders.
  • You will have opportunities for foreign and domestic travel and language study.
  • You will receive tradecraft and leadership training while increasing your substantive expertise through academic study, collaboration with Intelligence Community peers, and professional conferences.
  • You may also participate in broadening assignments within the Agency and across the U.S. Government.

Education

Bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following fields: Military History National Security International Relations Defense Studies Political Science War Studies At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale preferred
