What you will do

  • Perform the full range of receptionist, recordkeeping and miscellaneous clerical duties within the ambulatory setting.
  • Complete request forms, manually or automated, for individual patient orders, blood work and other requests.
  • Maintain and monitor patient appointment schedules for the clinic/practice.
  • Coordinate and/or schedule patient appointments with other clinics or specialties.
  • Receive patients and visitors as the initial point of contact, in person or telephonically.

Position may be designated as Inclement Weather Essential.

The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions. Position may be designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.

Statutory return rights for current DoD employees are applicable in many circumstances.

Applicants selected from the contiguous United States (contiguous United States consists of the 48 adjoining U.S. states plus Washington, D.C., on the continent of North America) will be afforded pay retention in circumstances in which the basic rate of pay would otherwise be reduced if selected for the position.

Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. Applications will be reviewed and referred for selection as vacancies occur within the organization.
