THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1902000 and is part of the KY USPFO, National Guard.

What you will do

  • As a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER - TITLE 32, WG-6912-7, you will perform examining and identifying duties for the most complex categories of materiel and equipment.
  • Inspect, receive, sort, count, identify, and is knowledgeable of special handling techniques and procedures required for the processing of hazardous and toxic material.
  • Examine clothing, textiles, requiring sensory judgment as well as subjective measurement.
  • Receive or reject materiel, equipment, including non-standard equipment, and complex assemblies for the facility based on their knowledge of products, equipment, and procedures.
  • Schedule the receipt of property and assure that the property is identified to include identification of all contaminants.
  • Determine acceptance, serviceability and distribution requirements for perishable, classified, precious metals, textiles, clothing, complex electronic/mechanical equipment, assemblies and components.
  • Perform extensive research on equipment specifications using automated systems, technical manuals and supply bulletins to determine any special requirements for complex items passing through the storage and distribution area.
  • Assure adherence to storage compatibility and determines the need for special handling/storage of certain property.
  • Perform research of complex shipping and storage records, and commercial vendor contracts.
  • Perform a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, inspecting for defects, storing, selecting and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment.
  • Determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, and space utilization plans, as regards to hazardous material, in accordance with regulations for a specific commodity or equipment group.

Requirements

  • Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable.

  • CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
  • You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
  • Wear of the military uniform.
  • Position may require a pre-employment physical.
  • May be subject to furlough actions.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
  • This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
