What you will do

• Performs complex research and causative investigations to resolve receiving, issuing, inventory, and hazardous materials storage discrepancies using automated systems, physical searches, and transaction audits.
• Examines, identifies, and assigns condition codes; tracks items from receipt to issue; processes customer cancellations; and utilizes computer system reports to identify and resolve receipt and issue discrepancies.
• Compares contracts, tech orders, and catalog drawings against complex materials, including hazardous materials, to verify condition and quantity; handles damaged or unidentified items for repair or return.
• Prepares, verifies, and applies required markings, labels, and documentation for hazardous shipments, performing individual and consolidated packaging and repackaging for items of various sizes, shapes, and bulks.
• Reviews and investigates receipt, issue, or storage discrepancies, errors, and delays; determines probable causes; and identifies required corrective actions.
• Operates material handling equipment, including forklifts under 10,000 lbs capacity, to move, transfer, and transport materials while exercising strict safety precautions in confined and highly congested work areas.

What to expect next

Drug-Free Workplace Policy The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace.

All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing.

A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
