What you will do
- Responsible for planning, directing, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program in support of a variety of MCCS program functions.
- Utilizes a variety of communication methods and techniques, including oral, written, visual, and social media for the purpose of informing the general public about the programs, services, special events, and policies sponsored by or affiliated with MCCS operations.
- Develops and utilizes a variety of ideas and concepts designed to enhance awareness and utilization of MCCS facilities and servicesProvides leadership and direction to the Marketing specialists and digital media coordinator setting an effective marketing plan and ensuring performance goals are set and met.
- Serves as a mentor, coach and guide to the Marketing Department staff.
- May organize, tabulate, track and research primary data, including demographics for surveys, focus groups, etc. Assists in communication and promotional requirements, which may include developing digital marketing materials, brochures, calendars, and posters and other public relations activities for the department.
- Initiates and prepares routine correspondence such as letters, memoranda, and messages using a computer and various software.
- Plans, organizes, and manages internal processes, project management systems and resources to ensure maximum productivity and effiency.
- Manages and supports accounts for MCCS operating divisions.
- Works Special Events put on by Marketing as directed.
- Develops long range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives.
- May assist in the preparation of financial plans and related records and/or reports.
- Personally responds to routine telephone inquiries and mail inquires.
- Assists with the coordination of MCCS publicity through newsletters, newspaper, Plans of the Day, brochures, posters, and other media sources.
- Assists branch head and staff members by performing various marketing, clerical, and administrative tasks.
- Must possess strong computer knowledge with the use multiple cloud-based applications such as or similar to UCView Digital Signage Software, Daktronics Venus Control for LED signs, and experience with Wrike Project Management.
- Oversees the Consolidated Memorandum Receipt or asset inventory for the Marketing Division.
- Prepares internal office financial plans and related records and reports, and exercises authority on approved budget.
- Represents the Marketing Division in the absence of the Deputy Director.
- Provides guidance in business development and marketing activities.
- Must possess the ability to brief area commands, service members, and families.
- Monitors programs on a regular basis and initiates corrective action to ensure support of operating programs of MCCS.
- Manages new property and digital resources providing direction on facility renovations, installations, and improvements.
- Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.
- Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs.
- Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.
