About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child Development Center. Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs Employee Child Care Discount applicable to this position (see Additional Information).

Must be 18+ years of age.

What you will do

• Requires a general knowledge of carpentry, minor electrical work , plumbing, painting, and related trades.
• Repair surfaces by such methods as sanding, scraping, or wire brushing for application of coating materials such as painting, staining, varnishing, or shellacking on furniture, dry walls, ceilings, trims, etc. cutting and installing carpet.
• Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on small equipment and appliances to include hand tools, vacuums, installs hardware to repair preventative maintenance on small equipment and appliances to include hand tools, vacuums, installs hardware to repair or replace washers and tightening of screws on fittings or faucets.
• Perform plumbing functions such as clearing stopped or sluggish drains, replace washers and tighten screws on fittings or faucets.
• Remove and replace minor electrical items such as wall switch covers, etc. Notify management of any work orders needed to be submitted to Civil Engineering.
• Load, unload, or relocate heavy and bulky items from trucks, conveyances, carry and assemble or reassemble items.
• Use heavy power equipment, movers, etc. Adjust, clean, oil and perform maintenance.
• Cut and trim trees and shrubs.
• Operates a variety of vehicles including trucks, sedans, and crew cab pickup trucks that weigh up to 10,000 lbs.
• Operates snow blowers for snow removal around the facility and designated areas.
• Complete records and accident reports.
• Identifies to supervisor large costs/quantity items needed to perform work.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.

A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
