What you will do

• Serving as a Maintenance Mechanic WG-4749-10 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.
• This position is located in the Office of the Associate Director for Training Ops, Training Management Operations Directorate, Office of Charleston Operations, Charleston Administration Division, located in Charleston, South Carolina.
• The primary purpose of this position is is to serve as a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of FLETC training facilities and support facilities by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, renovating, and operating building and facility systems.
• Typical duties include: Maintaining and repairing building and facility systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, safety devices, etc.) Monitoring facility operations and supporting training requirements to ensure facilities remain safe, operational and available for law enforcement activities.
• Performing preventative maintenance, testing and inspections to ensure safety requirements are met and improve operating efficiencies.
• Supporting facility renovations and minor construction projects, to include carpentry, drywall, painting, concrete work, demolition, road repair, equipment installation, HVAC installation, and operation of heavy equipment.
• Following safety, environmental and hazardous material requirements to dispose of waste in accordance with applicable requirements.
