Main duties

  • The employee serves as the Lead Physical Security Specialist for the PFPA Red Team program and is responsible for managing the activities of the team.
  • Serves as a technical authority, providing expertise in physical and electronic security systems, security processes, systems analysis, and project management.
  • Prepares and briefs all reports and results of tests directly to the Director, SED and the Principal Deputy Director.
  • Supports the testing and evaluation (T&E) of state-of-the-art physical security technologies, which involves conducting market surveys, literature searches, and the design and execution of T&E activities to include report generations in support of the Office.

About the role

This position is located on the Security Integration & Technology Directorate (SITD), Red Team of PFPA. SITD pilots, integrates, tests, and evaluates new security technologies and programs.

The Red Team provides a wide range of physical security support for all major projects within SITD and conducts tests and assessments of DoW organizations and facilities within the NCR for the purpose of evaluating compliance with DoW security, antiterrorism, and intelligence directives.

  • Supports the testing and evaluation (T&E) of state-of-the-art physical security technologies, which involves conducting market surveys, literature searches, and the design and execution of T&E activities to include report generations in support of the Office.

How you will be evaluated

In order to be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. In addition to the application and application questionnaire, this position may require a SME Panel Assessment. The SME Panel assessment measures critical general competencies required to perform the job.

You will be assessed on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics): Broad Based Physical Security Experience Testing, Exercises, and Assessments Team Leader DOD PPP candidates using Application-Based Procedures: Military Spouse Preference (MSP) Eligible: Military Spouse Preference applicants, must be selected and placed at the highest grade level for which they have applied and been determined best qualified.

You must include a completed copy of the Military Spouse PPP Self-Certification Checklist (DD-3145-4) dated within 30 days along with the documents identified on the checklist to verify your eligibility for Military Spouse Preference.

Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technicians PPP Eligible: MR and NG technicians PPP applicants must be selected and placed at the full performance level if determined well qualified.

You must include a completed copy of the Military Reserve and National Guard Technician PPP Self-Certification Checklist (DD-3145-3) to verify your eligibility for Military Reserve and National Guard Technician preference.

Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technicians Receiving Disability Retirement PPP Eligible: MR and NG technicians receiving disability retirement PPP applicants must be selected and placed at the full performance level if determined well qualified.

Retained Grade PPP Eligible: Retained Grade PPP applicants, must be selected and placed at the full performance level if determined well qualified.

You must include a completed copy of the Retained Grade PPP Self-Certification Checklist (DD-3145-1) to verify your eligibility for Retained Grade preference.

What to expect next

Once your online application is submitted you will receive a confirmation notification by email. After the evaluation is complete, you will receive another notification regarding the status of your application.
