About the role

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Consumer Information & Insurance Oversight (CCIIO), Marketplace Innovation & Technology Group (MITG), Division of HUB, Data, & State Support.

As an IT Specialist (Data Management), GS-2210-13, you will support major information systems and cloud-based data environments that directly support the Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

What you will do

  • Lead data ingestion, integration, and reconciliation across internal systems and external data partners.
  • Translate Marketplace program, policy, and operational needs into data requirements, mappings, business rules, validation steps, and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and improve data governance, metadata, lineage, quality controls, access controls, and the appropriate use of sensitive data.
  • Plan and support cloud data services, self-service analytics, data catalogs, reports, dashboards, and operational extracts.
  • Track performance, availability, cost, and user value.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to contractors and application development teams.
  • Coordinate with program, architecture, engineering, security, privacy, operations, and external partners providing excellent customer service.

This is a competitive vacancy announcement advertised under Delegated Examining Authority. Selections made under this vacancy announcement will be processed as new appointments to the civil service.
