The Intelligence Community Office of the Inspector General is searching for exceptional candidates to join us in fulfilling our mission to identify and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct across the 18 elements of the Intelligence Community.

What you will do
- OIG Investigators conduct inquiries into possible violations of laws, rules, and regulations; mismanagement; gross waste of funds; abuse of authority; or substantial and specific danger to the public health and safety within the ODNI and across the Intelligence Community.
- Duties include but are not limited to: Develop and implement investigative plans for complex investigations and projects by framing the allegation(s), determining elements of proof, and identifying investigative tasks.
- Gather and analyze information and/or evidence, by interviewing key individuals, administering warnings, oaths, or affirmations, collecting and analyzing high volumes of information, maintaining the chain of custody for evidence, and drafting and serving subpoenas.
- Make initial recommendations to IC OIG senior leaders regarding actions they should take to address violations of law, regulations, and other serious problems, abuses, or deficiencies.
- Develop and present written documents that include reports of investigation and memoranda to management, and also develop and present oral briefings for senior leaders regarding findings and the status of complex or sensitive investigations.
- Monitor the progress of corrective measures taken by senior ODNI and IC leadership, and provide advice and innovative solutions to senior officials regarding the implementation of recommendations.
- Develop drafts of policies for supervisory review that are designed to prevent and detect violations of laws, rules and regulations and fraud and abuse.
- Support the development and presentation of briefings that keep the DNI fully informed of fraud and other serious problems, abuses, and deficiencies relating to the administration of ODNI's programs.
- Assist and cooperate with the Department of Justice and other Federal agencies in investigating alleged violations of criminal law involving IC programs, operations or employees, in coordination with IC OIG's Office of Legal Counsel.
Requirements
- Must be a current permanent ODNI employee OR must be a current permanent Federal employee with supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment (JDA).
- JDA applicants must be currently at the grade level specified in the advertisement.
- No temporary promotion opportunities will be granted for this position.
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
- Joint Duty applicants may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee, if endorsed by the employing agency.
- Joint Duty applicants must have a current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or have the ability to obtain one.
