THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (Title 32), Position Description Number D1659000 and is part of the IL 182 AW, National Guard.

What you will do

  • As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (Title 32), GS-0132-12, you will serve as the Senior Intelligence Analyst for the assigned Wing and as such is responsible to provide training, advise on, administer and disseminate intelligence information.
  • Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Serve as the unit's expert intelligence analyst for the commander and staff on all intelligence matters, including intelligence processes, support requirements, technical aspects of weapons systems, and terrorist operational methods.
  • Advise commanders and decision-makers on possible enemy courses of action by gaining and maintaining Global Situational Awareness (GSA).
  • Draw conclusions under time-sensitive or crisis conditions by combining raw intelligence from multiple, unrelated sources into finished intelligence.
  • Identify significant intelligence trends and propose new or revised analytical products to alert decision-makers to new developments.
  • Represent and defend intelligence positions to unit staff, MAJCOM representatives, DoD officials, and interagency partners during conferences, planning sessions, and working groups.
  • Plan, develop, and manage work schedules for intelligence activities during all phases of unit operations, including UTAs, AT, and deployments.
  • Establish intelligence requirements, procedures, and work schedules not predetermined by higher headquarters.
  • Project future intelligence data requirements and future threat scenarios based on intelligence indicators and operational needs.
  • Plan, organize, and manage deployment methodologies for intelligence operations during contingency operations.
  • Prepare and develop finished intelligence inputs for unit exercise scenarios, analytical studies, and war games.
  • Prepare and manage budgeting of fiscal and personnel resources for the intelligence function, including forecasting training and operational needs.
  • Research, evaluate, integrate, and analyze all-source data to prepare clear, concise, in-depth intelligence analytical products related to threats to air operations.
  • Prepare comprehensive intelligence annexes to unit operations plans and orders by researching operational and threat information.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of Force Protection situations at home station and deployed locations.
  • Develop and oversee intelligence publications and reference materials, including Combat Mission Folders, worldwide order of battle data, and geospatial information.
  • Present all-source intelligence briefings using a variety of presentation modes to diverse audiences, including MAJCOM, AF, DoD, and external agencies.
  • Provide performance evaluation, career guidance, and technical assistance to full-time and traditional intelligence personnel.
  • Train, educate, and test aircrew and operations personnel on worldwide threats, survival and evasion concepts, and mission-critical intelligence procedures.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement.

  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available for this position.
  • PCS expenses may be authorized.
  • Drug testing may be required.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for access to SCI.
  • May be required to Support 24 hour/7 days-a-week crisis/contingency operations.
  • Overtime, on-call, and weekend duty may be required on short notice.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this occupational series and grade.
