Intelligence Analysis Development Program (IADP) - Entry to Mid Level (MD HI GA)

About the role

Join the agency's exciting Intelligence Analysis mission, using your skills in research, analysis, reporting, and telecommunications to help protect US government information systems and ensure senior leaders are provided with time-sensitive cryptologic support for integrated information and cyberspace operations across the DOD and US Government.

What you will do

• Intelligence Analysts have the power to influence world affairs.
• They provide the most complete possible foreign signals intelligence picture to U.S. policy makers and military commanders.
• Intelligence Analysts seek creative analytic solutions to answer the nation's continually evolving top security questions.
• NSA Intelligence Analysts are hired into either a technical mission office or the Intelligence Analysis Development Program (IADP), which lasts up to three years.
• The IADP is designed to provide an intensive, accelerated opportunity to acquire the unique technical skills and experience needed to successfully apply knowledge and analytic ability to the Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) mission and help analysts achieve core analytic competencies in accordance with the Intelligence Analysis Professional Development Standards (IAPDS).
• The program includes 4-5 operational tours in a variety of offices, interspersed with formal classroom and computer-based training.
• These on-the-job operational tours are primarily focused on the two main SIGINT disciplines of intelligence analysis - SIGINT reporting and SIGINT development.
• Intelligence Analysts are at the forefront of implementing NSA's mission, and they do so in a variety of ways: - Research and understand foreign intelligence targets, how they operate and how they fit in the larger geo-political context - Apply new techniques and develop creative solutions to address analytic problems such as synthesizing large volumes of data and disparate sources of information - Demonstrate a firm understanding of the communications environment and technology trends of foreign intelligence targets - Craft written assessments of foreign intelligence that provide unique insight into target intentions unavailable from other intelligence disciplines - Work independently and collaborate effectively (both within NSA and with other analysts in the Intelligence Community) in research, analysis, and reporting

A degree in any field is acceptable.

Extracurricular activities might include participation in Hack-a-thons, Capture the Flag, relevant conferences, writing for school newspaper, leadership or board member of an organization, teaching, robotics, chess, mentoring, etc. Prior military without a degree but with intelligence analysis cryptologic experience will be considered.

• The National Security Agency (NSA) is part of the DoD Intelligence Community Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).
• All positions in the NSA are in the Excepted Services under 10 United States Codes (USC) 1601 appointment authority.

Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.

Salary Range: $50,460 - $133,142 (Entry/Developmental, Full Performance) Salary range varies by location, work level, and relevant experience to the position. Training will be provided based on the selectee's needs and experience. Benefits: NSA offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirement between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).
