About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in Adams, Pennsylvania.

What you will do

• Conduct reviews of Cybersecurity network vulnerabilities to ensure the integrity of network operations.
• Maintain the accuracy of the Cybersecurity Hardening Scorecard to assist leadership with measuring cyber risk.
• Perform system and user audits of information systems to maintain the security of the Local and Registration Authorities.
• Serve as Identity Access Manager to ensure information systems comply with established security parameters.
• Investigate security-related incidents and events as a member of the Incident Response Team to mitigate and resolve system vulnerabilities.

This position requires a 3 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.

Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.

Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023.

This is an IT Career Program position aligned under the Operational Support Career Management Directorate. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Student Loan Repayment, Advanced In-Hire, Relocation Incentive, Recruitment Incentive, and Advanced Leave Accrual are not authorized. This is a Key Essential position.

Employee is subject to alert and recall and subject to lockdown for extended periods. Because of the essential nature of this position, employee may not be in the Ready Reserves, National Guard, or be a Military Retiree with recall obligations. This is a Mission Essential position.

In the event of severe weather conditions, other installation closings, or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty. Employee may be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. This is NOT an on-call position.

This position is subject to a two-hour alert and operational recall and periodic work schedule changes to meet daily mission operational requirements. Employee is required to provide a reliable method of contact/communication and respond within 1 hour of notification receipt.

Appointment to this position is subject to a 3 year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in DoDI 1400.25 V3005, Cyber Excepted Service, Employment and Placement.
