About the role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Fort Hood rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio.
What you will do
- Performs driver maintenance and must have knowledge of driving rules and procedures.
- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains a variety of small and domestic heating units and systems.
- Installs and repairs heating systems and equipment, that have components, controls, and other auxiliary equipment.
- Repairs large and expensive valves used in large systems; tightens loose connections and glands; repacks or replaces gaskets.
- Assists on extensive repairs to complex components such as feed water regulators; dismantles and cleans valves and checks the internal linkage.
- Repairs and replaces water regulators, boosters generators, gas and air supplies and controls, alarms, safety devices, blower and draft motors and bearings.
