About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency; Defense Health Network East. At Blanchfield Army Community Hospital the duty location will be in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Emergency Center. The Emergency Center operates 365 days a year, 24 hours.

The standard schedule consists of 12-hour rotating shifts, which requires work every other weekend. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

What you will do

• Take and record blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height and weight.
• Perform receptionist duties and record keeping tasks associated with patient care.
• Provide individualized care to patients of all ages based upon the physician's medical care plan.
• Enter all specimen and patient demographics data into computer.
• Receive patients and visitors to the laboratory both in person and on the telephone.
• Provide guidance to providers, nurses, and attendants on specimen collection requirements.
• Ensure all supplies needed are stocked and ready for use in the phlebotomy room.
• Follow universal precautions, and infection control guidelines.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
