About the role

Food Service Worker position for the Dietary Department at Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. The incumbent is responsible for performing checks on tray setups, simple food preparation, cleaning and maintains duties. The incumbent will report to the Chief of Dietary and Community Nutrition.

A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

What you will do

• Complete accountability documentation at end of the meal period.
• Perform food service duties requiring knowledge and application of special food service procedures for patients on special and regular diets.
• Use and clean a variety of tools, utensils, and equipment.
• Stock supplies in a commercial kitchen.
• Assist in the delivery and return of food trays and carts to and from patient rooms.

Requirements

Additional information

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. IHS may offer newly-appointed Federal employees credit for their directly related previous non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service.

This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized.

At least a 1-year service agreement will be required. This position has no promotion potential.
