About the role

This position has been established to perform a variety of tasks involving short order cooking, janitorial, bussing and other related duties for the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at NAS Key West. This is a flex temporary position without benefits (0-40 hours per week based on program needs)

What you will do

• Prepares grilled sandwich items such as cheeseburgers, grilled ham and cheese.
• Uses fryer for such items as French fries and fried chicken sandwiches.
• Cuts meats and prepares sandwiches such as a ham and turkey club.
• Prepares chef salads, sets up salad bar.
• Prepares coffee and tea for serving.
• Stocks and readies grill area for preparing of food.
• May be required to help prepare full course meals on special occasions; serves food cafeteria-style to diners and/or carries pre-ordered food to tables.
• Janitorial: Vacuums carpets, cleans furniture, washes floors.
• Performs a full range of cleaning tasks in the building including washing walls, baseboards, windows and ledges, cleaning appliances, counters, vents, mirrors, commodes and urinals.
• Empties ash trays, waste and garbage containers.
• Bussing: Removes dishes and utensils from tables.
• Resets tables with place mats, utensils, napkins, sugar, salt, etc. Sets up or assists in setting up and taking down tables and chairs for special parties or functions.
• Other: May operate cash register and make associated reports when collecting payment for meals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.
