About the role
You will serve as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 8, Southern Nevada Fish & Wildlife Office, Las Vegas, NV.
What you will do
- Conduct Endangered Species Act section 7 consultation with Federal agencies on a variety of projects, primarily renewable energy.
- Conduct environmental reviews including National Environmental Policy Act reviews with other Federal agencies for a variety of projects, primarily renewable energy.
- Review project survey and environmental reports.
- Provide technical support to internal and external partners on project design and interpretation of site-specific projects.
- Identify resource needs and recommendations for ESA-listed species relative to inter-agency project planning.
- Produce maps and other products for project evaluations.
- Present results at inter-agency and public forums.
- Maintain effective cooperative working relationships with internal staff, Federal and State agencies.
