About the role

What you will do

• You will perform structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities.
• You will participate in pre-fire planning by identifying new or existing hazards.
• You will operate a variety of firefighting equipment.
• You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis.
• You will initiate established medical protocols in providing basic life support.
• You must have the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• You will work 144 hours biweekly schedule.

Additional information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. Several vacancies may be filled.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. You will be selected at either grades GS-05, GS-06, or GS-07 This vacancy may be authorized for PCS, 10% Recruitment or Relocation Incentive, with 4-yearly installments, and a 4-year service agreement for eligible candidates.
