Main duties

  • The Office of Protective Operations, U.S. Secret Service, is seeking a motivated detailee to join our dynamic team of financial management analysts and support the Deputy Chief.

  • Major Duties: - Conducts comprehensive financial analysis and evaluation of programs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and agency policies. - Develops, reviews, and interprets financial data, reports, and statements to support decision-making and resource allocation. - Prepares, monitors, and manages budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; identifies trends, variances, and potential issues. - Coordinates and collaborates with program managers, budget officers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. - Utilizes financial management systems and tools to track, reconcile, and report on financial activities. - Prepares briefing materials, presentations, and written reports for senior leadership and external oversight entities.

About the role

1-year non-reimbursable assignment. The only compensation for this assignment is the federal salary you are already receiving. United States Secret Service, Office of Protective Operations Financial Management Analyst Series Requested: 0501 Security Clearance: Top Secret Virtual/Remote: No Only current, full-time federal employees are eligible.

  • DHS Joint Duty Assignment Application Form signed by your supervisor.

Additional information

**DHS does not offer any additional benefits beyond that which the Federal employee is already receiving. If the position requires a security clearance, employees must have a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance to placement AND must maintain that level of clearance while performing in the position.

Selected applicants for a JDA are requested to fulfill the items below during the JDA: Complete the DHS Training Course 15 days prior to the arrival to the JDA. Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include: Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA.

Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA. Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
