THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1257000 and is part of the KS Surface Maintenance Manager, KANSAS ARMY NATIONAL GUARD, TOPEKA, KS, Kansas Army National Guard.

What you will do

• As an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, GS-1670-09, you will serve as a recognized authority on the repair and operation of various types of ARNG equipment.
• Provides instruction and assistance regarding equipment maintenance procedures, techniques, and methods as a part of the Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Team (MAIT).
• Provides advice, assistance, and guidance regarding maintenance management systems, material readiness programs, cost reduction programs, and maintenance shop practices in maintenance facilities.
• Receives reviews, and processes unit Army Material Status System (AMSS) reports and Missile Material Readiness reports and submits a consolidated report to the Logistics Support Activity.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period.
• Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.
• Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK

What to expect next
