Engineering Technician (Geographic Information System)

About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Geographic Information System (GIS) manager for the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) Master Planning and Real Property Division.

The incumbent will manage the installation's geospatial data, GIS web applications, and cloud-based systems, ensuring compliance.

What you will do

• Serves as the data manager and Data Base Administrator (DBA) for the Geographic Information System (GIS) for the US Army Garrison, Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC), and Blossom Point Research Facility (BPRF).
• The incumbent is the garrison Subject Matter Expert (SME) and program administrator for the GIS enterprise database.
• Assisting customers in development of new GIS data layers.
• Preparing and managing contracts to develop, populate, and maintain the GIS database Provides customer support for the implementation of cloud-based systems as well as stand-alone CPUs Develops GIS procedures, plans and assists with developing division processes and workflows.
