About the role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: As an Engineering Tech (Drafting), GS-0802-7/8/9, you will develop and maintain CADD drawings/as-builts, manage document storage systems, conduct GPS/Total Station surveys, plot data to generate 3D terrain models, and monitor geotechnical instrumentation for dams and civil works.
What you will do

- Research, recreates, and updates historical and as-built project drawings; performs field verifications to reconcile discrepancies with physical structures.
- Conducts topographic, boundary, and dam-monitoring surveys using GPS and Total Station equipment; processes field data to create accurate maps, 3D Terrain Models, and drawings.
- Maintains and organizes paper and electronic files into databases for drawings, specifications, and other technical data.
- Collects readings on geotechnical and structural instrumentation to monitor the stability and performance of dams, levees, and hydraulic structures.
- Collects, analyzes, and formats field data and water measurements into electronic reports to support engineering evaluations and project design modifications.
