About the role

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) support provider in the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM).

Provides appropriate on scene life support and operates ambulance.

What you will do

  • Conducts a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of the condition and searches for medical alert symbols.
  • Determines treatment priorities for multi-injury patients and utilizes appropriate emergency medical equipment and techniques during transport to a medical facility.
  • Navigates emergency vehicles using the most direct and efficient routes based on current traffic conditions and hospital locations.
  • Cleans and disinfects patient transport vehicles according to established Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) decontamination guidelines.
  • Delivers direct patient care within the hospital's Emergency Department in strict alignment with EMT training and scope of practice.
  • Takes, records, and monitors patient’s baseline vital signs including temperature, blood pressure and pulse.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

Permanent, term, or temporary positions may be filled from this solicitation. Eligibility for benefits depends on the type of position you hold and whether your position is temporary or full-time.

Temporary Positions: A temporary position is time limited and may be extended in one-year increments to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment. Term positions: A term position is time-limited and may be extended to a maximum of eight years. Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized.
