About the role
The Deputy Associate Administrator (AA) for Shipbuilding and Industry Expansion serves as a deputy to the Associate Administrator for Maritime Industry Support and Shipbuilding.
The Deputy AA is responsible for the following areas: Office of New Shipbuilding, Office of Ship Acquisitions, Office of Technical Reviews, Office of Deep-Water Ports, and Office of Shipyards and Marine Engineering.

- Identify and implement management improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced efficiencies whenever possible.
- Establish and maintain effective system of internal controls in all financial programs, complying with relevant Federal standards and regulations.
Requirements

Education

The selected individual's application will be forwarded to the OPM for review and certification by the QRB, unless the selectee provides evidence of their noncompetitive status (i.e., a current SES, OPM QRB certified SESCDP graduate, or SES reinstatement eligible). Upon QRB certification, the selected individual will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
