About the role
Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, located in the Bavarian Alps, serves U.S. service members, veterans, and their families. This developmental Conference Coordinator position receives training and supervision while supporting group and conference planning, bookings, rooming lists, guest services, contracts, budgeting, and event execution.
Coordinates with internal departments and external partners to ensure successful events and guest satisfaction.
What you will do

- Gradually assumes more responsibility and learns to perform the full scope of the duties required of the position.
- Completes a prescribed agenda of formal/informal training and self-development as set forth in the Individual Development Plan (IDP).
- Works under close supervision of the Sales & Conference Manager.
- Assists in developing, recommending, and enforcing operating procedures.
- Makes recommendations concerning services, promotion activities, and revenue improvements.
- Assists in the processing of group and conference rooming lists.
- Primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of the pre-conference/meeting/banquet bookings, execution, and follow-up, as well as the coordination of these activities with other concerned departments, as well as external sources and contractors during all phases of the group and/or conference.
- Functions span all groups to include guest services, sales, service quotes, facilitation of contractual agreements and program budgeting and execution.
- Incumbent works closely with the Banquet & Catering Manager, providing feed-back on conference customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction and recommending possible corrective actions.
- Assists in the evaluation of financial statements, reviewing costs against revenues, advising supervisor of status and recommending improvements.
- Represents the activity to the public.
- Assists in ensuring the adherence to all the Internal Control items related to the conference activities.
- Assists in the maintenance of the conference, lobby and guest areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education

Additional information
This is a limited tenure position not to exceed 15 months. It is an unaccompanied program because we cannot provide logistical support to family members. Dorm-style housing is provided in lieu of a living quarters allowance.
Transportation to and from Germany is provided in accordance with the terms of the Joint Travel Regulation and the executed transportation agreement. Military spouses and family members currently residing within the Garmisch Military Community who apply under this announcement will be considered for a regular appointment.
