About the role

About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Branch Health Clinic Mid-South, Dir of Mental Health. This position is as a Mental Health Consultant (MHC). As such, the employee will be physically located within the Primary Care clinic and serve as a consultant to the Primary Care team.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

  • Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendations for team-based care.
  • Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
  • Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Recruitment, relocation, or advanced leave accrual incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
