About the role

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Community Recreation, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bangor.

What you will do

  • Performs tasks involved in preparing and serving customers with snacks and beverages including coffee and made to order espresso beverages.
  • Orders food items to be sold (ie.
  • Muffins, biscotti, snacks, etc.) and ensures retail stock is replenished as needed.
  • Arranges items in an appealing marketing display for sale.
  • Operates cash register and prepares necessary documentation for cash funds accountability.
  • May assist in taking inventory.
  • Performs housekeeping tasks and is accountable for maintaining a safe, clean workplace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Work involves moderate physical effort in frequently lifting or moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Constant standing, bending, stooping and reaching.
