District of Columbia Air National Guard Joint Base Andrews, MD AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-6652-10 Group 3- Current or former uniformed service members (Active, Reserve, Guard) nationwide who are eligible for military membership in the (DCANG) **THIS IS NOT A CIVILIAN POSITION.

What you will do

- Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement The National Guard's full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments.

- Minimum Military Rank: E-3/A1C Maximum Military Rank: E-5/SSgt Other requirements: For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within One (1) year of appointment.
- This position is located in the Egress Systems Shop of the Aerospace Systems Section, Field Maintenance Branch, Aircraft Maintenance Division.
- The primary purpose of this position is to perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft egress systems, such as aircraft ejection seats, extraction and escape systems, egress components of jettison canopies, explosive components of escape hatches and doors, and egress trainers.
- Duties: Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs, modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests such components as regulators, flow indicators, actuator motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, seat actuators, catapult guide rails, ejection seats, rocket packs, and canopies, Inspects pressurization system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulators for general condition and serviceability Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft egress systems.
- Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IC and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics): Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical principles as applied to aircrew egress systems Ability to visually inspects ballistic lines, tubes, hoses, and linkage for damage, deterioriation, restrictions, and security of connections and mountings, and performs corrective maintenance as required Ability to install, maintain, or repair aircrew egress systems.
