About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Surgery, Anesthesiology Service at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive May be Authorized. Advanced in hire may be authorized to candidates who are new to Federal service.

What you will do

  • Advise multidisciplinary teams on anesthesia options, risks, and evidence based practices; review current literature to support clinical decision making.
  • Participate in QA/QI, peer review, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation, and accreditation processes; evaluate care standards, improve outcomes, and maintain required certifications.
  • Teach and mentor CRNAs, students, and staff; deliver lectures, in services, and clinical instruction to advance anesthesia practice.
  • Assess patients preoperatively, determine optimal anesthesia methods, obtain informed consent, interpret diagnostic data, and adjust plans based on clinical changes.
  • Deliver Monitored Anesthesia Care, general, and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetric, and procedural cases; monitor patients, manage intraoperative physiology, and provide immediate postoperative care.
